Аннотация: The health promotional setting is defined as a place or social context in which people engage in daily activities in which environmental, organizational and personal factors interact to affect health and wellbeing. The national health promotion policy of Sri Lanka recognized health promotion as an effective and cost effective approach to improve health. There are several programmes are implemented recently in Sri Lanka that use health promotion setting approach such as ‘health promotional villages’, ‘health promotion school’ and ‘health promotion hospitals’. The Public Health Midwives and Public Health Inspectors are the main ground level health care workers who work with communities to promote health. The current study was a cross sectional descriptive study designed to assess the knowledge, attitudes and skills among primary health care workers in developing health promotional settings in Kalutara RDHS division. The study was conducted in all MOH areas of Kalutara RDHS division from April 2015 to August 2015.
