Аннотация: Dairying has been a part of Indian culture and civilization from ancient times. It is very difficult to point out when we started to breed cattle and use milk, but it is true that we began using milk and milk product from the time. Milk and milk products play a vital role in India's agricultural economy being the second largest contributor to the gross agriculture produce. Dairy development fits most appropriate in the country’s programme of increasing food production, rural employment and economic development. It is an agro-based industry, so much, so that the cattle fodder and other feeds have a direct bearing with the agricultural products. Since India is an agricultural country, the dairy industry possesses brighter prospects of its development and expansion in the future. In India, where the majority of people live in villages and major occupation is still agriculture, production of milk is carried out only as subsidiary occupation.
