Аннотация: This textbook is intended to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to history lecturers in colleges of Education and Universities. The textbook is a collection of the author’s more than fifty (50) years of teaching experience acquired from teaching in Primary and Secondary Schools, Colleges of Education and Universities, the University of Zambia, and the Zambian Open University. The author is an advocate for the pupilcentred teaching approach, and as a result he discusses in detail in the area of methodology the various teaching methods, which include; the textbook study method, the question and answer method, the discussion method, the problem solving method, the map study method, the picture study method and the project method. The author also discusses the subject of evaluation in teaching and how evaluation can be effectively done by a teacher. He also discusses the role and value of Audio-Visual Aids in history teaching as well as the teaching styles of teachers. This monograph will be helpful to teachers and lecturers who want to improve on their methods of teaching history in Colleges of Education and Universities.
