Oral Manifestations of Systemic Diseases. Bridging Oral and Systemic Diseases

      Аннотация: A wide array of systemic disorders encountered in internal medicine has manifestations in the oral cavity and the facial region. The mouth is a mirror of health or disease, a sentinel or early warning system which has the potential to reflect the human body’s internal condition. Irrespective of the organ system involved, changes frequently occur in the oral cavity reflecting disease elsewhere in the body. Oral clinicians are at pains to emphasize that mouth is a part of the body and dentists must acquire familiarity with systemic conditions that can affect the oral cavity, so that appropriate referral and management can be done.
