Sound knowledge of healing process and its impact on soft tissues like contracture and scar formation, are crucial to plan the reconstruction of a defect. A thorough understanding of vascular anatomy and physiology of the flaps that we raise, is beneficial to avoid complications that follow reconstructive surgery to provide best possible care to patients.
