Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Treatments and Policy Recommendations.

      Аннотация: PTSD represents a growing problem for governments whose troops have been engaged in hostilities in conflicts such as those in Iraq and Afghanistan. These conflicts have exacted a high cost both in terms of government money and impaired lives of former soldiers. This book describes conventional and innovative treatments for those suffering from the effects of posttraumatic stress disorder. Literature indicates a wide disparity not only in terms of total numbers of veterans affected but also in terms of the effectiveness of various treatment procedures. Clinical trials indicate rates of success in alleviating the symptoms of PTSD through treatments such as cognitive behavior therapy. Other treatments such as Narrative Exposure.
