Аннотация: Medicinal plants are used worldwide as alternative and/or complementary medicine. There is also an increasing interest in medicinal herbs as precursors for pharmacological actives. Research in clinical phytopharmacology appears as an alternative to improve health care in developing countries when the most developed western countries have chosen biologics and biosimilars medicine. Clinical phytopharmacology is the scientific discipline that involves all aspects of the relationship between phytomedicines and humans. The role of clinical phytopharmacology is to develop methods and strategies that improve the quality of phytomedicine. This book is aimed primarily at decision-makers in a variety of topics in phytopharmacological research in order to develop methods and strategies improving the value of phytomedicines used in individual patients and patient populations. The first part of this book deals with extraction of active principles for candidate phytomedicines selection, followed by pre-formulation of active principles for preclinical studies using poly phytotherapy alternative and combination concept. The second part deals with phytopharmacy and clinical evaluation.
