Women in Women Fiction. A Cross Analysis of the "Women of Brewster Place" by Gloria Naylor and "So Long A Letter" by Mariama Ba

      Аннотация: This essay reviews written African American literature and African literature written by women. Dominated for a long time by men, who from outside, have tried, as best they can, to analyze and interpret the lived experiences of women, African American and African literature have known, with novelists like Gloria Naylor and Mariama BA, another twist. These two novelists, from within, have realistically portrayed the African American woman and the Senegalese woman with her lot of pains and hardships. If in the United States of America the woman suffers a double victimization as Black and woman, in Senegal the misinterpretation of the Muslim religion by some men, the tradition and certain customs prevent the woman from enjoying some of her rights. Hopefully, Gloria Naylor and Mariama BA offer solutions that allow these women to overcome their ordeal. They advocate an active solidarity between women, which, according to them, is the only way to salvation against the oppression of which they are victims.
