Аннотация: Telemedicine is the use of information and technology to provide medical services at a distance. Keeping in mind the rapid increase in population, telemedicine is proving to be an efficient solution to provide healthcare services to the masses. Regions in South-east Asia have been proved to be the the most promising regions in the imrpovement of telemedicine (WHO Report, 2010). different telemedicine projects in the South Asia countries including India, Maldives, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal have been described in details for later comparison. The goal was to identify both the success and failure cases of telemedicine in the society and derive the elements that contributed towards it. Inclusion and exclusion criteria have been defined using the PICOS criteria to help replicate the research for future studies. The research also uncovered that there are two levels of improvement in provincial India. One of bigger provincial hospitals and other was remote areas where foundation was even more difficult. Lastly the development of telemedicine largely depends upon its acceptance in the country at all levels, including the government, the patients and the doctors.
