Governing urban centres and security challenges. In north central Nigeria in the fourth republic

      Аннотация: The book examined the profile of security challenges in the North Central Nigeria in the Fourth Republic, examined the nexus between urban governance and security challenges in the study area, appraised the strategies put in place to combat security challenges in the selected states during the period under study and investigated the factors militating against the effort of government to tackle security challenges in the study area. These were with a view to assessing the effect of urban governance on security in the selected States. The study concluded that urban centre governance in the North Central Nigeria has contributed to the security challenges in the study area. The poor governance arose from its failure to provide adequate social services, especially in the areas of education, health and gainful employment to the people, and funding of security outfits.
