      Аннотация: Diabetes is considered to be a metabolic disorder that mainly occurs due to defects in either insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. There are a number of oral hypoglycemic drugs available for the treatment of diabetes, but their long term use may cause various side effects which are noxious for the health. In addition, uncontrolled diabetes can cause many chronic complications, including blindness, heart disease, and renal failure. Herbal medicines and plant components with insignificant toxicity and no side effects are notable therapeutic options for the treatment of this disease around the world. In this book you will find clarity and recent work, and developments related to the antidiabetic potential of Artocarpus heterophyllus and Benincasa hispida herbs indigenous to many tropical Asian countries.
