Аннотация: The present study has added new knowledge to the existing water scarcity that has caused significant changes in land use in the Arabian Peninsula. This study would help in bridging the gap by focusing on the factors affecting this change in terms of the irregularity among the growth in population, economy, and urbanization that results in deterioration of the natural habitat of Saudi Arabia. The current study has added to the knowledge of factors which support the assessment of the overall status soil and biodiversity in Saudi Arabia. This study has demonstrated the metabolic variability that emerges due to soil and summer season drought stress in some characteristic perennial species that is growing in 7 habitats at the Red Sea desert. Therefore, this study enriches the body of knowledge by exploring the impact caused by variant soil characteristics particularly the direct influence of the maritime environment on these plant species.
