Аннотация: India known for being an agricultural country shows a wide array of cultivation of different types of crops. This range is the result of soil differences among various regions and provinces which again dominates the realm of culture and lifestyle. Indian soil type is intertwined with India’s tradition. A major crop grown in a certain area becomes the staple food for the local people of that part and soil becomes one with the demography. Thus a study of the nature and distribution of Indian Soil type is a portal to the interior of Indian household. However six major soil types are identified in India which is the Alluvial Soils, Black Soils, Red Soils, Desert Soils, Laterite Soils and Mountain Soils. Dissimilar physiography, climatic and geological feature is responsible for this heterogeneous soil distribution in India. This diversity of earth has influenced the nation and its culture in distinctive way. Author duo Dr Biplab Tripathy an academician and Subhechya Raha a research scholar together have composed three books and numerous research articles. Through this work the authors have tried highlight the regional array of soils in India.
