Аннотация: This book contains cultural and social capitals and the works of Indonesian poets of generation 1970 and 2000. Generation 1970 has strong influence until now. Their survival can be seen from the response of readers as well as the capitals they have. Some prominent poets from this generation are W.S. Rendra, Toeti Heraty, Sapardi Djoko Damono, Sutardji Calzoum Bachry, and Taufiq Ismail. The generation 2000 is treated as comparison for the generation 1970 and represented by the poets Afrizal Malna, Dorothea Rosa Herliany, Joko Pinurbo, Emha Ainun Najib and Wiji Thukul. This book consists of five chapters. The introductory chapter I outlines the political developments in Indonesia and the aesthetic insights of Indonesian literature from the colonial era to the era of reform. Chapter II describes the theory used to analyze the work of those poets. The theories used include reader response put forward by Beach and Segers and then Bourdieu's thought on cultural and social capitals. Chapter III describes the readers’ response to the poets. Chapter IV describes the cultural and social capitals that poets possess. Chapter V discusses the readers’ responses to the works of the poets.
