Аннотация: This book 'Methods of Science: Positivist and Post-positivist' is therefore, critically discusses the views of positivism and post-positivism on the nature of scientific law propositions and the problem of methodological unity of natural science through a critical analysis of various contemporary philosophers on the issues. The first half of the twentieth century philosophy of science was dominated positivist. Positivist debunked the whole of traditional philosophy by attacking metaphysics which was the most important branch of philosophy. Metaphysics was so central to philosophy that philosophy was virtually identified with metaphysics. The second half of the book is to introduce you to view of the two great thinkers, Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn regarding the nature of science. Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn are the most important philosophers of science who shaped much of the current thinking on science. Both showed how flawed was the positivist philosophy of science. Philosophy of science as a frontier are of research today owes a great deal to them.
