Аннотация: An Ad hoc network is a kind of wireless network, consist of mobile devices that uses no fixed infrastructure for communication. They have a wide range of applications in monitoring environmental conditions, battlefield surveillance, forest fire detection, flood detection, patient monitoring etc. They are also used for commercial applications. Wireless Sensor Networks are also a kind of ad hoc networks. These networks have been one of the key areas for research in recent years, and consist of tiny sensor nodes having sensing, data processing and communicating capabilities. The aim of this book is to provide students, researchers, and engineers with a skilled guide to the essential concepts, design issues, and resolutions to the issues, architectures and protocols, and the recent research developments in ad hoc wireless networking. A distinctive feature of this book is that it deals with the complete range of issues that affect the design of ad hoc wireless networks, and explanations to the issues, with illustrative examples emphasizing on the instinct behind each of the solutions.
