Аннотация: Cardio-respiratory fitness is an integral component in the overall physical fitness measurement. The professional demand of physiotherapy profession require the therapist to engage in activities which demand good amount of strength, endurance and flexibility. A reasonably high level of physical fitness is required to carry out the routine job activities of a physiotherapist.Students of physiotherapy are a relevant target group associated with community health promotion as they will be responsible for health promotion in the general population. Young adults are a particularly vulnerable group to influence of factors which are characteristic of today’s society as technology advances and they search for an optimal use of their time, leading to an accelerated process of change in their lifestyle by providing comfort and minimal effort in all areas, increasing the numbers of sedentary youth. This book emphasizes results of a study which evaluated levels of cardio-respiratory fitness in physiotherapy students in Vadodara (Gujarat, India) based college as there is no current literature available emphasizing cardio-respiratory fitness in physiotherapists.
