Аннотация: The present study was carried out in the department of Microbiology between January 2013 to September 2014 on the Coagulase negative Staphylococci isolates, isolated from the sterile clinical samples in a rural hospital of central India.• The study was performed on 88 CoNS isolates from the sterile clinical samples isolatedduring the period of January 2013 to September 2014.• A total of 6,619 sterile clinical samples were processed for aerobic culture out of which 841(12.70%) samples were culture positive.• Out of 841 culture positive, 321(38.17%) were Coagulase positive Staphylococci, 216(25.68) were Klebsiella species, 88(10.46%) were CoNS, 57(6.78%) were Escherichia coli, 54(6.42%) were Pseudomonas species, 49(5.83%) were Acinetobacter species, 21(2.50%) were Enterococcus species, 7(0.83%) were Streptococcus species, 5(0.59%) were Salmonella species and 23(2.50%) were Citrobacter koseri, Cornybacterium species, Listeria monocytogenes, Micrococci species and Candida.• Isolation rate of CoNS amongst culture positive was 10.46%• 86(97.73%) CoNS were isolated from the blood and one (1.14%) each from CSF and pleural fluid.
