Аннотация: The Naokelekan formation has been analyzed through significant geochemical analysis techniques. Depending on the kerogen type it is Type-II and Type-III. Examined total organic carbon (TOC) shows that four rock samples of the Naokelekan formation are less than 1.0% and the rest of it is characterized by more than the mentioned value. Another result from using the values of S2 and TOC, proposes that this source rock is varied from poor to fair source rock from hydrocarbon potential point of view. Furthermore, based on the determined values of petroleum potential (PP) the Naokelekan formation is characterized by poor to fair source rock. Finally, The maximum temperature Tmax values, some of the analyzed samples are mature and located in the oil window; even though they have variations between early and mid of a mature stage. However, certain samples are relatively locating in the immature stage. From the observed data, the formation has the ability to generate oil and gas together when it is exposed to a sufficient amount of heat.
