Critical Issues Affecting Healthcare Delivery in the Niger Delta. The Role of ICT Policy

      Аннотация: The Niger Delta, Nigeria has witnessed much insurgency and militancy owing to dissatisfaction with national policies on the development of the oil-rich region. The region generates the nation’s crude oil. Most significantly, the region has been marginalized, resulting in the neglect of infrastructural development and a total collapse of functional health systems. The region has been plagued with health challenges resulting from oil spillage. Humans now suffer from various kinds of diseases resulting from the effects of oil exploitation and exploration, and gas flaring. ICT policy is presented as an enabler to a viable healthcare delivery. This book is intended to provide a comprehensive study on the adoption of scientific tools to enforce growth within the health sector by identifying the extent of ICT application, the application of appropriate ICT policy in the health sector, the influence of related policy, and other critical issues in healthcare delivery within the region to enhance development in the sector. The framework design and statistical concepts adopted in this book should assist in any postgraduate study, and can be applied in any field of human endeavor.
