Language and Thought: A Two Coin of One Face in Being and Function. Imposition of English Language on Formal Education in Nigeria

      Аннотация: This book brings to bare the interconnectivity of language and thought in cognitive exercise. It showcases how apparently language has ever enjoyed the privilege of systemizing, structuring and communicating the fruits of man’s reflections; such that it is only with the existence of language that man’s continuous reflections can be manifested. The book also bring to the fore, the fact that language and thought are so much intertwined that any imposition of foreign language over the language that naturally speaks to man in his cognitive exercise beclouds the purity, distinctiveness and exactitudes of his thoughts and blame such gesture as factor responsible for the Igbo region of Nigeria not to have made significant breakthroughs into the global scientific and technological research. Therefore, this work is of huge interest to scholars in every fields of life, most especially to the education policy makers and all who are so much concerned about the continuous dependency of Africa on Europe, America and lately China for scientific and technological oriented issues.
