Аннотация: Transverse discrepancies demand a separate consideration in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. It can be dental, skeletal, functional or a combination of any of these in origin. Hence evaluation of the underlying cause of the asymmetry or any other transverse symmetric problems must be given utmost importance in the process of formulating an appropriate treatment plan for the best results. While doing so the relationship between the transverse discrepancy with the sagittal and vertical problems also has to be looked into, which together has a profound impact on the treatment strategy. Clinical management of such problems have always been a challenge to an orthodontist and a thorough knowledge about the same is required for a successful outcome. Keeping this as the goal, I took a flyer to bring out a book that would comprehensively encompass the development, diagnosis and treatment of such discrepancies. The layout has been kept as simple as possible in a very reader friendly manner. This book has been updated to include the most recent aspects of transverse discrepancies in the field of Orthodontics.
