Diarrhea is a humanitarian issue of concern that remains a major cause of death among children below five years of age in developing countries especially the Sub-Saharan countries in Africa. The environmental risk factors for diarrhea development vary by context hence have crucial implications in designing appropriate intervention strategies to reduce the disease burden, and thus disasters in development and relief periods.
