A COMPENDIUM OF MEDICAL TOURISM. MEDICAL ECONOMIC APPROACH, TRENDS, OPPORTUNITIES, CHALLENGES, AND IMPACTS

      Аннотация: This book is a compendium of evidence-based practices and fundamental insights into the phenomenon of medical tourism, focusing on India as one of the major destination countries for medical tourists. The book accrued a series of practical strategic approaches in favor of implementing such initiatives in developing African countries like Nigeria, Ghana, etc., to make these countries a key destination for Medical tourism in the nearest future. Several published works of literature on Behavioral Theory Frameworks are equally reviewed to understand the factors involved in the decision making process of a medical tourist.3) The author also conducted a critical appraisal of the major medical facilities located within the South Indian cities of Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai that are commonly utilized by medical tourists globally. Therefore, highlights the various characteristics that have endeared them as “pearl healthcare facilities” to the medical tourists. We are optimistic that upcoming young trainee professionals, faculty, instructors and practitioners working within the Medical Tourism industry would benefit significantly by taking advantage of the book.
