Аннотация: Nutraceuticals are products derived from food sources that provide nutrition along with health promotion, disease prevention, or medicinal properties. Nowadays, nutraceuticals have received considerable interest due to their potential nutritional value, safety, and therapeutic effects. Over the last few decades, detailed knowledge of the influence of diet on human health has increased greatly and populations across the world have become conscious of the need for a so-called "Healthy Diet”. Growing concerns about the diet's impact on health reflect the rising economic and social costs associated with various diet-related diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, among others. Thus, people started eating more vegetables, fruits, dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, phytotherapeutics substances, and other plant foods to attain a better quality of life. This chapter highlights the importance of various nutraceuticals and their usage in various diseases and ailments.
