Youth and Drug Abuse in Metropolitan Kano. Pattern, Prevalence and Predisposing factors

      Аннотация: One of the major social problem bedeviling the youth in many contemporary Nigerian cities ( including Kano metropolis) is substance abuse which hinders their progress and as well affects their productive capability as the potential future leaders and the segment of the population upon which societal hope of a sustainable development lies. This book is therefore an attempt to explore the clear picture of the menace of substance abuse in Kano metropolis as it examine the pattern and trend of youths substance abuse, prevalence and alarming rate of the problem, predisposing factors responsible for youth involvement into the problem as well as the challenges hindering effective control of the menace. The book has not only provide conceptual and theoretical framework for understanding the problem but also build upon indepth empirical analysis on various dimensions of youths substance abuse problem in Kano metropolis based on which some recommendations were considered as a means to addressing the problem.
