Аннотация: The study examined the effect of cognitive behavioural therapy on suicidal ideation among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHDs) in Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Keffi, Nasarawa State. The study adopted a quasi-experimental research design and purposive sampling technique. Twenty-six patients identified after the administration of the questionnaire and booked for an 8 to 9 weeks psychotherapeutic sessions at their consents. Results revealed a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores on suicidal ideation. Results also indicated a statistically significant difference between males and females on the measure of suicidal ideation. Moreover, female patients scored higher on suicidal ideation measure than their male counterparts. Lastly, the result of the study demonstrated that cognitive behavioural therapy was effective in managing suicidal ideation among PLWHDs.
