      Аннотация: The Indian Retail Industry is the largest among all the industries, accounting for ever 10 percent of the countries GDP and around 8 percent of the employment. The Retail Industry in India has come forth as one of the most dynamic and fast-paced industries with several players entering the market. The Indian Retail Industry is gradually marching towards becoming the next boom industry. The Food Retail Industry in India dominates the shopping basket. The Mobile Phone Retail Industry in India is already a U.S. $16.7 billion business, growing at over 20 percent per year. The future of India Retail Industry looks promising with the growth of trends of the market, with the government policies becoming more favorable and the emerging technologies facilitating operations. The Industry is facing some challenges such as competition from unorganized sector, taxation, which favors small retail business, developed supply chain and integrated IT management is absent in retail sector, lack of trained work force, low skill level for retailing management. The retail growth has great impact on various sections of society and government.
