      Аннотация: Highly sensitive optical fiber chemo sensors relying on the modification of the grating portion of nano-particles significantly enhance the sensitivity and detection limit for chemical species. The technique used for fabrication of a chemical sensor using FBG/LPFG is highly sensitive at low concentrations of the species, especially in the ppm range. Green nanotechnology is eco-friendly technique in synthesizing different nanoparticles and this technique is used for synthesis of different nanoparticles. Some metal salts are reduced with reducing agents/plant extracts, resulting in nano-particles of various sizes.Fiber grating sensor was used in the detection of contaminants present in drinking water and edible oil. The sensitivity of grating sensor was enhanced using nanotechnology. The required nanoparticles were synthesized by green method and used in grating technology and later in biological applications. Further nanoparticles were used as biological agents for different biological activities like antibacterial, antioxidant and DNA cleavage. Synthesized nanoparticles have shown excellent results in sensing and biological applications.
