Rationale for Patient Selection for Dental Implants.

      Аннотация: For centuries, even the best dentists could not help but replace the tooth crown but not the root. But time has changed, for about twenty years, dentists have been able to “get to the root” of gaps between the teeth by replacing the missing roots with tiny pins called “implants”. Contemporary implant dentistry has not only started to rival classic tooth borne care, but it is becoming the clear choice for tooth replacement. With the advent of immediate placement and loading, this specialty is poised to command the lion’s share of the tooth replacement field as it will be satisfying all the demands of both the patients and practitioners with regard to speed, cost and healthy replacement of the all the missing components in the system. Implant therapy offers many advantages over conventional fixed or removable treatment options and in many cases is the treatment of choice. So, the practitioner should meticulously follow every step in selecting the appropriate treatment plan and maximizing the longevity of the implanted system, including the overlying prostheses.
