Аннотация: The author presents the results of a study of 150 publications in online media in Bulgaria for the period of January 2012 – February 2021. The text is divided into several parts. The first one presents the theoretical overview, which is related to the concepts of “online media”, “social networks”, “media ecology”, “post-truth” and “fake news”. The second one includes the design of the survey and the phased presentation of the results against the fake news and the post-truth. Fake news is associated not only with official statements, press conferences, briefings, speeches, but also with information about current events, topics of social significance, as well as events and personalities in the history of Bulgaria. The language in online publications mixes formal and informal speech with everyday words, even slang. The terms give the impression of authenticity, but complete information is not given, which indirectly implies the creation of conditions for post-truth in the online media in Bulgaria. The role of online media is constantly being reconsidered and at the same time, they play a role in informing certain groups in society.
