Аннотация: During the past few decades, sonics and ultrasonics in conservative dentistry and endodontics have enhanced the quality of treatment and represent an essential adjunct in the treatment of a variety of cases. Since its introduction, sonics and ultrasonics in endodontics have become increasingly useful in applications such as gaining access to canal openings, cleaning and shaping, obturation of root canals, removal of intracanal materials and obstructions, and endodontic surgery. In addition, cavity preparation by the sonic and ultrasonic method is efficient in relation to the time required and is effective in making classical cavity preparations. The greatest advantage of the sonic and ultrasonic unit is to the patient. Cavity preparation by this method is practically noiseless, vibrationless, heatless, and is well tolerated without local anesthesia. This book illustrates the history and progress that ultrasonic and sonic technology and related techniques have had over the years, classifies the various ultrasonic and sonic tips available in the market, and evaluates the different clinical applications in both conservative dentistry and endodontics.
