Reflections on American Literature 1600-1910.

      Аннотация: This book gives a summary of American literature covering the period from 1600 to 1910. It includes the writers of this period and provides excerpts of their most popular literature. It also focuses on the Americans’ desire and eagerness to achieve freedom and liberation from the past European traditions, values and the freedom of choosing their religious sect even if this conflicts with the Church of England. Part One includes four chapters: Chapter One covers and reflects on early American literature from 1600 to 1800; Chapter Two discusses and reflects on Romanticism in American literature from 1800 to 1855; Chapter three analyses Realism in American literature from 1855 to 1900; Chapter Four covers and reflects on Regionalism and Naturalism from 1870 to 1910. Part Two includes an authentic short story written by the author titled “The Flickering of Past Memories.” This book might be useful to instructors and students in The Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
