Аннотация: Materials science has grown dramatically in recent decades. Materials, and results of basic and applied research, make life and civilization possible. New materials, from ceramics to semiconductors to composites, must be created, manufactured, and explained. Spectroscopy, microscopy, and other state-of-the-art technologies are now widely used.
