Digital technology has not only affected but is continuing to affect the profession of dentistry in every way. Decreased discomfort and stress to patients, less fatigue to the dentists, less chair side time, increased accuracy and improved patient-dentist communication offers a better patient experience, and improves the productivity and economics of the dental practice. Furthermore, digital impressions have proven to reduce remakes and returns, as well as increases the overall efficiency. The trend is happening now and by elimination of these everyday problems described above, there is no question that significant advantages of digital impressions will make intraoral digital scanning procedure in most dental clinics within the next several years.
