      Аннотация: This book delves into the role and performance of the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) in the management of the electoral process in Kenya between 1992 and 2002.Due to the complexity of the electoral processing Kenya and the wide scope of the electoral body, the book thematic structure is based on three objectives. Firstly, the scholarly piece inquires on whether the ECK had the requisite independence / autonomy to be able to manage free and fair elections. Secondly, it interrogates the legal framework within which the ECK existed and its consequent contribution to effective management of the electoral process in Kenya. Thirdly, the master piece seeks to establish whether the ECK had the necessary capacity to effectively manage the electoral process. The book utilizes both secondary and Primary data sources in its endevour to unravel the electoral processes and their net effect on the vote outcome. The book will make reccomendation on the need to overhaul the Kenya's electoral management process, by applicable amendments of the law. The book finds the need to reinvent the electoral governance process dire in Kenya, in the interest of consolidating democratic governance.
