Аннотация: Intellectual property refers to creations of the mind, inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names and images used in commerce. Intellectual Property Rights are like any other property rights – they allow the creator, or owner of a patent, trademark or copyright to benefit from his or her own work or investment. Bangladesh has failed to provide adequate and reasonable protection for the innovative and creative activities. In Bangladesh IP Rights violation is a common affair and it is relatively a new concept that’s why Bangladesh doesn’t have enough research or studies on Intellectual Property Rights issue. In this study, attempt has been made to analyze current scenario of the protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Bangladesh, examine the role of existing legal instruments and various Institutional activities regarding implementation of International obligations through domestic tools, identify the reasons behind the violation of Intellectual Property Rights in Bangladesh and highlight the prevailing legislation whether those are enough or not.
