Multicast in Wireless Sensor Networks. A Secured and Energy-efficient approach

      Аннотация: In recent years, there is an increased interest in applying Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) for typical communication and computing applications such as security surveillance, combat field assistance, environment monitoring and disaster relief management. In these applications, sensors are deployed in large numbers and operate in a collaborative way to collect data, even in unattended environments. Efficient usage of energy is very critical in wireless sensor networks as sensor nodes are not connected to constant power supply. Hence, communication in WSN is restricted by energy, computation and memory capabilities of sensor nodes. Multicast communication reduces the sender’s transmission overhead and bandwidth requirements, thus making it best suitable for communication in resource constrained WSN environment. This book, features a literature review on existing multicast algorithms and propose a new novel approach which is secured and energy-efficient.
