Аннотация: As the present book deals with Indian diaspora writers in America, a brief survey of the reasons for Asian and Indian migrations to the U.S. is incorporated for a better understanding of the fundamental aspects. Writers like Shashi Deshpande, Dina Mehta, Vera Sharma, Sunita Jain, C. Vimala Rao, Malathi Rao, Gauri Desh Pande, Ruth Prawer Jhabwala, Anjana Appachana, Manju Kapur, Kalpana Swaminathan, Geeta Hari Haran, Manjula Padmanabhan, Jai Nimbkar, Anita Nair, Nina Sibal, Kamala Das, and Lakshmi Kannan have exposed the inequalities of Indian Society. The popular modern diaspora writers in the United States namely Sujata Sankranti, Monika Ali, Jayasri Mishra, Appachana Anjana, Ganesan Indira, Kamani Ginu, Massey Sujata, Meer Ameena, Persaud Lakshmi, Parameswaran Uma, Tharoor Shashi have tried to bring out the reasons for the alienation in a foreign land.
