      Аннотация: The research focus is on management of solid waste and environmental quality encountered by residences and Environmental Waste Managers in management of solid waste and of the techniques of waste disposal in ensuring a healthy environment in Benin City. The menace of solid waste management in the study area is confronted with a number of problems. The problems of waste management range from inadequate storage facilities and service provider, poor sanitary measures and environmental degradation. For this study, 5 objectives and 3 hypotheses were listed, examined and tested. The 5 objectives are; to identify the various types and composition of waste generated in the study area; examine the solid waste disposal and management techniques in the study area; examine the problems of solid waste management in the study area; examine the household income and volume of waste generated in the study area, and examine the effect of solid waste management and quality of environment in Benin City while the 3 hypotheses tested are; There is no significant variation in the significant variation in the techniques of waste management on quality of environment among the 3 Local Government areas used.
