Аннотация: This study examined the Determination of Technology Education Teachers Professional Development Needs for Teaching Basic Technology in junior secondary schools in Lagos State. The study used descriptive survey design and no sampling was used to select the sample. Hundred (100) Basic Technology Teachers teaching in Public Schools and Hundred (100) Basic Technology Teachers teaching in Private Schools were selected making a total population of 200 teachers, which were used for the study. A questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection in the study. Eight research questions and a research hypotheses were answered and tested respectively. T-test was used for the statistical analysis. The result shows that most of the teachers found professional development activities very impactful in developing their professional development needs. The finding shows most basic technology teachers also to find most professional development needs as needful in teaching basic technology. The result also shows no significant difference between public and private schools teachers in their perceived professional development needs for effective teaching of basic technology.
