Аннотация: As each day passes, parents and caregivers render some form of abuse knowingly and unknowingly on children. The stories of the various forms of child abuse floods the news media. Though most of these actions goes unnoticed, its ripple effects on the child’s development are enormous. Child abuse and mental health in the developing world highlights the effects of various types of abuse on child development and mental wellbeing. This writeup is triggered by the need to understand the integral development of the child from birth to adolescence, emphasizing which actions can negatively affect their development at each stage, elucidating strategies that could be adopted by homes and schools for a healthy child development, and reviewing the general situations and strategies for preventing and or ameliorating the circumstances. The book also highlights how social development activities can support the tackling of child abuse in developing countries.
