Evaluation of Antibacterial Properties and Smear Layer Removal. Use of Sage as a Root Canal Irrigant in Primary Anterior Teeth: An In-Vitro Study

      Аннотация: The major objective in root canal treatment is to disinfect the entire root canal system and to reduce or eliminate bacterial infection. Simultaneous irrigation with instrumentation was proofed in removing tissue remnants, smear layers, and bacteria. Herbal products have been used in dental and medical. Salvia officinalis ( sage), are native to the Mediterranean region and some of the Salvia species have been used worldwide as one of the oldest herbal medicine. The family Lamiaceae has been extensively known to have immense medicinal, pharmacological and industrial properties. Sage is the largest member of Lamiacea or mint family containing over 900 species throughout the world. Sage essential oils are very important sources for the screening of anticancer, antimicrobial, antioxidant and antiseptic properties.
