Аннотация: Harmony between hard and soft tissue morphologies is essential for form, function, and a good esthetic outlook. Soft tissue replacement grafts have become a substantial element to increase tissue volume in plastic periodontal and implant surgery. Connective tissue graft has been regarded as a reliable and predictable procedure that provides a satisfactory esthetic outcome, making it a popular alternative for clinicians. The unique nature of this tissue enables its use in multiple clinical scenarios. The easy availability, low cost, versatile nature, shorter healing period and proven efficacy of connective tissue grafts compared to other regenerative techniques have made this a valuable approach to periodontal plastic surgery. It is the most reliable and “gold standard” procedure for soft tissue volume augmentation to date as it implies a well-defined and consistent standard of treatment procedure. technically demanding surgical procedure, the clinician has to be well versed in diverse aspects of the procedure, including handling characteristics of the tissue, knowing the potential limitations, and avoiding complications associated with the technique.
