Аннотация: Pain, a highly subjective experience, involves the peripheral and central nervous system and is influenced by previous experiences, emotional and cognitive factors. Pain could also be viewed as a protective or defensive mechanism that sends the brain an alert so a protective behavior can be generated. Biologists recognize that those stimuli which cause pain are liable to damage tissue. Accordingly, pain is that experience we associate with actual or potential tissue damage.
