Аннотация: This book contains comprehensive details of an exploratory qualitative study design and interpretive epistemological approach that was used to conduct a study among purposively selected adult women in Udaipur sub division located in the Trans Himalayan region of north India. The study explored the view points of women about the influence of structural, socio-cultural and environmental determinants on health understanding and decision making. The book gives useful insights about systematic approach to be followed while planning a qualitative study, collection of data and data analysis using the thematic content analysis and constant comparative approach. The author while having the opportunity of working in the Trans Himalayan region of north India for more than two years has the first hand real time experiences of observing tribal life and collecting data in different tribal villages. The study results recommended the need for early inclusion of women as one of the stakeholders of health system. Participatory approach by health professionals can build the trust between the health care system and women.
