It highlights political theories notably realism, liberalism and idealism and in so doing demonstrates how political power and undemocratic styles of leadership are major contributors to social unrest. It also emphasizes the role of dominant Bretton Woods international regimes the likes of the United Nations and the IMF that at times are contradictory and consequently complicate the process to peace and prosperity.
