Аннотация: In human-computer interaction, recognizing hand gestures and face detection became predominant. The primary goal of this proposed system is to create a system, which can identify hand gestures to convey information for controlling media player. In this, hand is directly used as the input to the device for effective communication purpose of gesture identification and there is no need of intermediate medium.Human-Computer Interaction is a non-tangible way of communication between a human and a computer. . The aim is to develop a video player controlled by human hand gestures using mediapipe. This application uses a webcam to capture gestures by the user and perform basic operations such as play, forwarding, back warding, resume and pause. The gesture would serve as the direct command for operations such as play or pause the video based on the user’s gestures onto the screen. It is implemented using Python, OpenCV, Mediapipe framework. Hand gestures can be used to control certain functions of a computer like playing or pausing a video, increasing and decreasing volume, forwarding and back warding the video and to resume the video.
