      Аннотация: Osteoimmunology investigates the impact of immunological factors on bone metabolism and osseous architecture, the RANK/RANKL system has emerged as a central dogma interacting with many other anabolic or catabolic factors for the regulation of bone remodeling in health and disease. During inflammatory conditions like periodontitis, alveolar bone resorption takes place as a result of the release of certain immune-regulatory cytokines or mediators like receptor activator of nuclear factor κ B (RANK), receptor activator of nuclear factor κ B ligand (RANKL) and Osteoprotegerin (OPG), etc., that are present on bone cells such as osteoclasts and osteoblasts respectively.
