Effects of Varying level of stresses on Retrofitted Beam Column joint. By using the technique of ferrocement jacketing

      Аннотация: Reinforced concrete structures may be required to be upgraded for various reasons. Structural inadequacy of materials like concrete and steel. The application of CFRP as external reinforcement to strengthen concrete beams has received much attention from researchers, but only very few studies have focused on structural members strengthened after preloading. The behavior of structures which have been preloaded until cracking initiates deserves more attention, since this corresponds to the real-life use of CFRP retrofitting. The process of upgrading the strength, regaining the lost strength and enhancing the performance of the structure locally or globally is referred to as retrofitting. Strength, stiffness and ductility of few elements or whole building can be altered by retrofitting. Ferrocement jacketing for retrofitting can be useful as it is economical, easy to apply from the view point of less skill labour requirement, lightweight and high tensile strength. In this study for shear lacking RC beams deflections of specimens are noted after stressing the specimens to ultimate load. Then retrofitting is done with ferrocement and their strength is compared to control specimens.
